Metal Fabrication Quality Control Officer

KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Metal Fabrication Quality Control Officer position.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspect incoming materials to check whether specifications are met, monitor fabrication processes according to engineering drawings/blueprints to ensure that fabrication of vehicle part components meet quality standards and record the inspections results for future references.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

• Inspect production process of vehicle components and parts according to specifications or engineering drawings/blueprints to ensure that quality requirements are met.

• Coordinate with the internal engineering team to decide on improving engineering drawings/blueprints based on new technologies, and according to customers’ requirements.

• Prepare a system of documentation which defines and documents work quality, which include: Approved Shop drawings for fabrication, Specifications and procedures for materials, Specifications for fabrication processes and methods, Work instructions, Material handling instructions, Reports of a step-by-step production/fabrication operations.

• Develop quality control checklist or inspection criteria sheet to inspect quality of material inputs, fabrication processes, finished products, and level of customer satisfactions.

• Train fabrication team about the internal workflows to maintain skill and proficiency.

• Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs.

• Prepare performance report for submission to the Quality Assurance, & EHS Head.

Required Number           :  1(One) 

Qualification                    :  BSc in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field

Work Experience            :  8 years in quality or related managerial role

Required Competence    : 

• Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures

• Excellent communication skills, (both written and verbal)

• Strong analysis/problem solving skills, and attention to detail/quality focus

• Strong leadership skills

• Strong team spirit
