Construction/Project Department Manager

Job Summary:

Under general direction of the General Manager of the Company, he/she performs comprehensive construction/project management duties (implementation and supervision), particularly, the four major division heads and associated professionals, such as Structural (Implementation & Supervision), Electrical (Implementation & Supervision), Sanitary (Implementation & Supervision) and Mechanical (Implementation & Supervision) Division Heads as well as Site & Office Engineers. He/she supervises the administration of various projects and field personnel supervision; receives general direction from management staff through regular discussions, performs a variety of technical and management works, supervises lower level professional and/or technical staff involved in the construction, quality control, quality assurance, and/or inspection of construction projects. In generalplans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the overall administrative activities, financial and construction /project/operational activities of the department; formulates guidelines, strategies and objectives covering all aspects of activities of the department. In consultation with the appropriate planning and  monitoring department, leads implementation, commissioning and testing of projects and ensures that all key mile stones are met within the time, budget, and performance expected from the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Based on the nature of the projects at hand, he/she design and develop the job descriptions of the division heads of the department as well as the site and office engineers; 

• Plans, assigns, directs trains and evaluates the work of a group of professional and sub professional employees in connection with the engineering review, coordination and inspection of construction activities affecting the facilities and Capital improvement projects;

• Directs/performs quality assurance/controls audits of construction phase, including planning, engineering, inspection, scheduling and budgeting;

• Inspects and reviews projects to monitor compliance with contracts, building and safety codes, and other regulations;

• Reviews construction projects and reviews plans for such projects;

• Determines methods and procedures and provides appropriate recommendations for completion of more difficult phases of the work;

• Performs other related duties/assignments as required by the GM.

Qualification &Experience:

• MSc Degree in Civil Engineering and Other Fields
• With 8 years relevant work experience or BSc 
• Degree in similar fields with 12 years relevant Work experience.
