To support our growing operations, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to manage and optimize our supply chain processes.

Job Summary:

The Logistics Specialist at Capital Flow Trading PLC is responsible for managing and coordinating all logistics and supply chain operations for our imported goods. This includes overseeing transportation, storage, and delivery processes while ensuring compliance with all relevant local and international regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Import Coordination:
    • Manage the complete import process for goods, including customs clearance, shipping schedules, and necessary documentation.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of imported products.
  2. Documentation and Compliance:
    • Prepare and verify import/export documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin, to ensure accuracy and compliance with local and international regulations.
    • Stay updated on customs regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock levels and efficient storage practices.
    • Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics processes to reduce lead times and minimize costs.
  4. Supplier and Vendor Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, shipping companies, and logistics providers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure smooth operations.
    • Evaluate and select logistics service providers based on cost, reliability, and service quality.
  5. Logistics Planning and Optimization:
    • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations, reduce transportation costs, and improve delivery times.
    • Analyze and monitor transportation costs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and increase efficiency.
  6. Problem Resolution:
    • Address and resolve logistics and supply chain issues, such as delays, damaged goods, or customs clearance problems, promptly and effectively.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to address any logistics-related inquiries or concerns.
  7. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and other logistics-related data.
    • Prepare reports on logistics performance, including on-time delivery, transportation costs, and inventory accuracy, to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in an import/export company, specifically in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs clearance procedures, and international shipping.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Amharic or other languages is an advantage.
