Job Description

Golden Tulip Addis Ababa Hotel is a Five Star upscale Hotel, part of international Hotel Chain, located in an expansive ground in a strategic location from International Airport, is looking for qualified candidates for the Purchaser vacant position.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:-

• Place purchase orders and issue call-offs according to production schedules.

• Follow-up on supplier confirmation of purchase orders and shipments.

• Create requirements of specified packaging materials both local and imported based on medium-term requirements.

• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time & best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectations.

• Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues timely, if any.

• Perform periodical cost analyses and prepare timely reports on procurement and purchasing activities.

• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.

• Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up to date with industry trends.

• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.

• Must be able to maintain good relationship with all departments and Home Office to promote effective purchasing.

• Ensure that the department works closely with the Chef and the Food & Beverage Manager to purchase the highest quality products while constantly searching for the lowest price with maintaining quality product and service

• Ensure that all items received by the hotel are properly documented in accordance with Golden Tulip Hotels-Suites-Resorts purchasing and receiving procedures.

• Must have track record of dealing with suppliers in various trade sectors: Food and Beverage, engineering, hotel amenities, stationeries, etc …

• Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to the Purchasing Department.

• Perform other related tasks as required by the company management.

• Other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Job Requirement

Qualification:  

• Degree in purchasing and Materials management or Related Field from accredited college/university

Work Experience and required skills:

• At least 4 years of work experience in hotel purchasing areas 4 or 5 stars Hotel, and good communication skills, Computer literate, MC (Material Control System) highly motivated, enthusiastic, organized and loyal individual with leadership qualities are vital to the Position.

• Grade 2nd or 3rd driving license or equivalent is mandatory.
