Job Description

Job Summary:

The Greek Community School is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team as the Director. Under the direction of the Principal, the Primary School Director provides leadership for the instructional program, as well as coordinating proper implementation revised Cambridge curriculum. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for our students.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements three year strategic school improvement plan that can enhance quality education and students success
  • Develops and implements one year action plan
  • Takes steps to ensure excellent public relations, including the parent newsletter, building and teacher websites, telegram, and the yearbook.
  • Manages all advisory groups, including teacher, staff, and parent and student groups.
  • Plans and implements recognition events such as academic award, recognition assembly and graduation ceremony
  • Plans, implements, supports, and assesses instructional programs that enhance teaching and student achievement of Cambridge Standards of Learning;
  • Ensures that staff members plan instruction to achieve desired objectives that reflect the Cambridge Standards of Learning and division curriculum guidelines;
  • Ensure that all assignments set the respective standard plan.

  • Demonstrates effective organizational skills to achieve school, community, and division goals;
  • Works collaboratively with staff, families, and community members to secure resources and to support the success of a diverse population
  • Works in a collegial and collaborative manner with other administrators, school personnel, and the community to promote and support the mission and goals of the school division;
  • Coordinates with extra-curricular sponsors/coaches on supervising, coverage, and scheduling of all extra-curricular activities;
  • Assumes responsibility of assigning administrative coverage/attendance for all student activities and events
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools in accordance with the school/system policies and practices.
  • Coordinates the building and grounds maintenance program at the building level.
  • Co-supervises custodial services within the building.
  • Interprets policies related to department, staff and students.
  • Responds to and resolves complaints and grievances of students, staff and parents.
  • Develops building objectives and procedures to facilitate the delivery of programs, student discipline, scheduling and recordkeeping. .
  • Manages school safety and security processes including crisis management procedures.
  • Record drop outs regularly with supervisors & home room teachers
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
  • Communicates a clear vision of excellence and continuous improvement consistent with the goals of the school division;
  • Oversee the school's website and social media platforms, ensuring they are regularly updated with relevant and engaging content that reflects the school's values and achievements.
  • Interprets School Board, GCS Law, rules and regulations to staff;
  • Promotes effective communication and interpersonal relations with student, staff, parents and community members;
  • Holds regular department meetings and maintains effective communication with all school personnel;
  • Arranges special events and prepares communications that help to interpret the school's programs to the parents and the community;
  • Contacts parents immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible, in the event of an accident, serious illness, or other matter pertaining to the general welfare of the student;
  • Maintains school handbook of policies and procedures, including: the school division's standards of student conduct and enforcement procedures, along with matters of interest to parents and students;
  • Interacting with the parents to becomes the ambassador of the schools management to keep a clear line of communication open between the institution and the students guardians
  • Supervises, evaluates and give feedback to each teacher at least four time per a year and ensuring that the proper elements of instruction are implemented;
  • Screens, interviews and recommends the selection of staff; including teachers and paraprofessionals; assigns the teaching staff.
  • Manages all staff orientation processes.
  • Manages and edits the staff handbook.
  • Supervises police liaison services.
  • Manages all building security and staff procedures, including evacuation and emergency plans.
  • Visits the classrooms frequently to observe first-hand the instructional methods, materials, and procedures used by teachers;
  • Consistently evaluate students progress and improve their result Prepare excellence of teaching and learning controlling process & guide line
  • Develops and implements a plan for the continuous evaluation of the curriculum and programs.
  • Ensure that continuous assessment of students is carried out with table of specification
  • Ensures that instructional time is protected from interruptions and intrusions;
  • Ensures that instructional materials and equipment are used to provide learning experiences that are compatible with the educational needs of the students;
  • Oversees that all staff members keep and submit accurate and up-to-date records, as required;
  • Makes a careful daily check of student absences and requires an excuse following each absence
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities;
  • Create a strategy in which student get lesson at all periods and make unexploited periods to zero
  • Follow up continuous assessment regularly for each grade
  • Mentor, Guide and coach club activities with supervisors
  • Check the validity and reliability of final examination along with department
  • Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, high quality education program to all students along with supervisors
  • Create different strategy to improve the excellence of teaching and learning process
  • Identify and register missed classes and make of to be compensated
  • Follow up teachers and report to HR when absent
  • Check and follow up students, teachers and other supportive staff whether they respect rules and regulation of school
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems using effective problem-solving techniques;
  • Implements a discipline policy that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff
  • Maintains sensitivity to individual personal staff situations/problems;
  • Responds to needs and concerns of parents and other community members or agencies;
  • Enforces the observation of all school policies, rules, and safety regulations Manage teachers discipline and take corrective method
  • Check the miss much of annual plan & lesson plan and take corrective measure
  • Resolving conflicts between students, teachers, parents or combinations of conflicts between various individuals
  • Provides staff development programs consistent with program evaluation results and school instructional improvement plans;
  • Takes responsibility for and participates in a meaningful and continuous process of professional development that results in the enhancement of student learning;
  • Advises teachers regarding instruction, classroom management, and student discipline;
  • Encourages staff to take advantage of professional growth opportunities by assuming responsibility for a program of in-service training and staff development
  • Models professional, moral, and ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions;
  • Motivates students and school personnel to achieve maximum potential
  • Recognizes and rewards students academic, extra-curricular, and/or conduct achievements;
  • Analyzes data on student achievement;
  • Analyses assessment data to increase student achievement
  • Consistence follow up and support to enable no child left behind
  • All students surpass the national and international examination at all level
  • Develop Cambridge learners who are condent, responsible, reective, innovative and engaged equipped for success in the modern world
  • Preparing all reports required through assigned responsibilities each month.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Master Degree in Education, Educational leadership, Educational planning, and Management and other related field. Having any international certificate like CIDTT, PGDE, PGCE and other related is advantageous

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in school leadership role, preferably in Cambridge schools.

Skills

  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Team player; ability to work effectively with different levels within and outside the organization and with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
