Reports to                               : Manager, Laboratory Technical and Sales Manager 

Job purpose                                       

  • The Junior Accountant will be responsible to carry out account operation tasks assisting 

  • and handling in   cash payment, data registration, reconciliation of financial data, petty cash 

  • handling, bank statement collection and reconciliation, originating and encoding data on 

  • vouchers, handling check pad and docs, pay payment when approved /authorized, and 

  • provides other Accounting/ financial support regarding branch Accounting and Finance duties 

  • and report to head quarter Finance and Accounting Division. Assist in planning and 

  • accomplish overall financial and administrative support service andsupport insales works 

  • aligned to overall activities of WHCSC.

Functional relationship with: 

  •  Staff, Technical Manager

  • Finance and Accounting Division 

  • Client/customer, bank, and government institutions

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • This job description is intended to provide an overview and main tasks, duties & responsibilities but it is not limited to the job description may be enriched and/or enlarged as deemed appropriate by WHCSC.

  • The Cashier and Junior Accountant will be responsible to carry out account operation 

  •  Handle cash payment, data registration, reconciliation of financial data, petty cash, bank statement collection and reconciliation, 

  • Originate and encode data on vouchers, process check payment pad and docs, pay payment when approved /authorized, 

  • Provides other Accounting/ financial support regarding branch Accounting and Finance duties 

  • Deposit cash to bank on time and file deposit slip and advice, 

  • Handle cash and equivalent instrument in care and safely until depositing action to bank, 

  • Report finance docs and data to head quarter Finance and Accounting Division

  • Actively facilitate collection of sales revenue , generate receipts and handle cash machine, Z-report safely,

  • Assist in planning and reporting costs, expenses and financial summary,

  • Facilitate payroll preparation checking attendance, taxes and pension and so on, 

  • Accomplish overall financial and administrative support service andsupport insales works aligned to overall activities of WHCSC

  • Perform additional work assignments when assigned by immediate supervisor or next authority asp.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • BA in Accounting and Finance and /or related fields and relevant work experience of 2 years. Experience of Lab and Medical service is preferred. 

  • Competencies: technical, skills, and abilities, expertise & behavioral

  • Cable to efficiently handle Accounting tasks, cash, financial docs, and cash machines

  • Great knowledge, skill and operation of lab equip and tools

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective time management skills, ability to work with a team and independently when required

  • Highly integral and trustworthy, dynamics and responsive enough

  • Professional and attentive enough for attention to details, hospitable and customer service oriented 

  • Acquainted with decisive business acumen and computer literacy is required

Language skills

  • English, Afaan Oromoo, and Amharic languages basic conversation and writing skills are required.
