Chief Accountant

Scope of Role

The Chief accountant will be responsible for the Team Leading, preparation of Financial report, Analyzing Financial Report, monitoring Tax matters and report accordingly, keeping the budget of the Company, monitor daily activity of accounting section, develop and implement accounting policy and procedure, ensure regulatory compliance and performing other duties when assigned. 

Purpose of Role 

• Monitoring all tasks are achieved in compliance with IFRs /International financial reporting standard/.
• Verifying the work of all payments and collection which is being done under accounting clerk.
• Making sure reporting and bookkeeping is accurate and in compliance with the Country’s rules and regulations. 
• Identifying, analyzing, monitoring and reporting any financial discrepancies. 
• Identifying, monitoring and reporting any risk factors which may raise financial impact to the Company.
• Monitoring whether the budget figures are effectively utilizing. 
• Identifying and reporting the Company’s compliance to tax matters. 
• Ascertaining whether inventory valuation is properly done. 
• Making strategic decisions, and managing a team of accountants. 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities  

• Collaborate in budget formulation process. 
• Perform cash flow forecasting, analyzing budget actual results and work closely with other teams.
• Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
• Ensuring the preparation of the monthly bank reconciliation to the respective bank accounts.  
• Monitoring the reconciliation of subsidiary and general ledger accounts.  
• Ensure tax payments are up to date and all declarations have been made.  
• Ensure all outstanding tax balances reflected under the record balance.  
• Follow up the cash collection task with the designated team and report any long outstanding balances on a weekly and monthly basis. 
• Maintain proper financial documents with secured condition for further retrieval or reference of documents. 
• Record, summarize, analyze and report each cash collection and payments against their contract agreement on a weekly and on a monthly basis. 
• Assisting monthly inventory count teams as necessary as possible. 
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the Chief Accountant, if necessary.
• Align with other department staffs to give data/assistance for the Company’s cost effective and revenue generating activities under the supervision of the Chief accountant. 
• Liaison with External and Tax Auditors as and when necessary.

Qualification and Experience Required  

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in as a Chief Accountant role. 
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills 
• Proficient in ERP, word processing and spreadsheet software 
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks 
• Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations 
• MA degree in Accounting and Finance field of study from a recognized and reputable institution. 
• Being ACCA student is plus.
