PROGRAM: USAID/Ethiopia Lowlands Health Activity (USIAD/E LHA)
REPORTS TO: Regional Team Leader

BACKGROUND
EngenderHealth Ethiopia and its consortium partners are positioned to implement the USAID/Ethiopia Lowlands Health Activity (USAID/E LHA), a primary health care intervention, focused on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health, and Nutrition (RMNCAH-N) to enhance the overall health and nutrition of people in the pastoralist communities. As part of this activity, USAID/E LHA aims to introduce quality improvement initiatives and strengthen the health system to ensure the provision of high-quality RMNCAH-N care. To support the implementation of these activities, EngenderHealth is seeking well-qualified Senior RMNCAH-N program officers for the respective regions of USAID/E LHA implementation, namely Afar, Somali regions, Borena Zone of Oromia, and South Omo Zone of the Southern region of Ethiopia.
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior RMNCAH-N Officer, supervised by the Regional Team Leader, will be responsible for managing and providing technical assistance for the implementation of USAID/E LHA supported RMNCAH-N programs implemented in pastoralist communities. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure the achievement of specific USAID/E LHA targets in Demand Creation, service readiness assessment, capacity building of healthcare providers through training and mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives. The Sr. RMNCAH-N Officer will be expected to plan and carry out field-level activities, ensuring their effective implementation. The Sr. Officer will also coordinate and monitor the timely execution of program activities under the Sr. Officers responsibility. This will involve organizing and facilitating training sessions, mentorship programs, and regular site visits to support and strengthen the skills of healthcare providers working in public health facilities. Additionally, the Sr. Officer will play a pivotal role in strengthening referral networking among healthcare facilities in the region. The technical expertise and assistance of the Sr. Officer will be important in guiding healthcare providers and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. To realize this role, the Sr. Officer is expected to have strong project management skills and understand RMNCAH-N programs. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also important in building relationships with public health facilities and district health systems. Overall, the Sr. RMNCAH-N Officer will contribute to the successful implementation of RMNCAH-N programs, making a positive impact on the health and well-being of pastoralist communities.
