Regional WFP Project Coordinator

Job Description Summary

The position holder co-ordinate all Food Aid and Cash Programs in the Region & ensure compliance to Donor and World Vision requirements /guidelines and lead WFP-GFD staff stationed at WFP-GFD Woreda at Tigray Region. To maintain overall planning and implementation of all WFP-GFD activities in Tigray expansion woredas. He/she will work closely with finance, Project officers, Reporting officers, CFRM staff, stock controllers and other commodity team. Likewise, to ensure partnership networking and correspondence the position holder will work with Woreda Zonal and Regional concerned governmental and non-governmental offices. Moreover, to maintain the quality of the operation and achieve the objective he/she closely working with WFP-GFD team particularly at HO and Northern Ethiopia Hub and participate in the existing Regional cluster meetings.

Job Description

• Lead and coordinate the implementation of WFP-GFD Food assistance support activities and take all the necessary steps to make sure program implementation is in accordance with the objectives or purpose of the program.
• Warehouse Management, Commodity Transportation and Food Distribution Management
• Lead and maintain a smooth and productive relationship with local government partners at Woreda, Zonal  and Reginal level for effective implementation of WFP-GFD program in two operational zones
• Finance/Budgeting Management
• Commodity tracking (Reporting and Accountability).
• Monitoring and Compliance Activities
• Personnel Management and Team Leadership

?Required Professional Experience

• 3-5 Years of extensive exposure to food aid programs (minimum 3 years) &
• knowledge of commodities & logistics operations, preferably within Food Assistance Operation, specifically those that relate to food distributions, warehousing, reporting, tracking, monitoring etc…

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

MA/MSc or BA/BSc Degree in Food Science, Agric. Econ, Disaster Management, Rural Development and other relates fields

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and working understanding on Emergency Food resource management.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead the team with similar scope of work.
• Experience in food assistance programing, Grants/project management, Market assessment and Analysis, Cash transfer programing, performance management, project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.                                                       
• Good understanding of Humanitarian Accountability standards
• Good knowledge of local context
• INGO experience
• Ability to work in high tension and high security risk situations
• Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
• Experience and knowledge of WFP/USAID funded emergency food assistance projects, Red Cross code of Conduct, SPHERE Standard and HAP
