Pharmakon Trading House is a private limited company and one of the major Pharmaceuticals, medical & laboratory supplies, and Hospital equipment importer and distributor; Serve the supply chain of these products to health sector for several years. Currently has more than 100 imported items and wants to expand its company by recruiting competent human man power for the below listed positions. 

Job Summary 

Working with and reporting to the Finance manager, a senior accountant assists in performing day today activities of the finance department task. Monitor the invoice, cash deposit; withhold collection, posting and preparation of the financial statements. The senior accountant will assist Pharmakon trading house PLC in the management financial resources both into and out of the company leger and will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of controlling of finance. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities 

• Responsibility to review & check Documents & supporting documents
• Ascertain that all relevant documents are in place 
• Performs Codding & Posting
• Close monthly reports and prepare periodic financial report.
• Code Purchase, sales & Expense according to the chart of account
• Deals with and follow up bank activities like Deposit, Transfer, withdrawals and Collections
• Prepares monthly payroll
• Follow up Government obligations to be meet
• Prepare Bank Reconciliation
• Close account books
• Follow up and remind financial management on unsettled Payment or Receipt
• Follow up petty cash expenditure & verify documents for replenishment
• Follow up accountants on filling for Petty cash, journal, voucher, & check transaction of the office 
• In consultation with the Finance Manager prepares Periodic Financial statement for Management purpose.
• Recommend & makes all the effort that will help to improve the accounting system
• Performs any other related tasks as may be required by his supervisor
• Provide assistance as required by other 
• Willing to obey the company rules and regulations as per standard.
• Willing to perform working under stressful situations.

Department: Regulatory Affairs

Reports To: Technical Manager

Duration of Contract: at least two years with possible extension

Salary: Negotiable.

Required qualification 

• BA Degree in Accounting 
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant Experience preferable working at Pharmaceutical Import sector.

Experiences: 

• The applicant must will to take the test both written and interview as scheduled by the company. 

Mandatory Skills: 

• Must have knowledge in utilization of Peachtree Accounting Software 
• Must have knowledge in utilization of Microsoft Excel, and word.  
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skill.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax law, customs and revenue authority.
• Must be a self-starter and internally driven to success and hard work.
• Possesses strong cross-cultural communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a humble team player
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable. 
• Must have analytical and report writing skills.
• Committed to the code of conduct of Pharmakon trading house‘s values and ethics.
