Common Vision for Development Association (CVDA) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-for-profit, humanitarian aid association. It was established on October 28, 2005 by a group of dedicated persons from diverse social, economic, professional and religious backgrounds.
CVDA has been re-registered and licensed by the Ethiopian Ministry of Justice, Charities and Societies Agency, on November 30, 2009 as an Ethiopian Residents charity in accordance with the Charities and Societies proclamation No. 621/2009 with registration No. 0588. As per 1113/2019 proclamation also re-registered on July 30, 2019.
It has permission to work at the national level so far operates marginal parts of BenshanguleGumuz Region, Central Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, South West Ethiopia, Sidama region (17 woredas), Oromia Region (16 woredas in West Showa Zone, Borena Zone, Guji Zone, west Guji and west Arsi) Afar Region; Zone 5; Delfefage, Dewe, Telalek, HadeleEle and SumuRobi Zone 3 ; Gewane and Gelalo and City Government of Addis Ababa.
CVDA is member of National Health Forum of NGOs and National Children and Youth Forum of NGOs under CCRDA. Beside this it is member of Consortium of Reproductive Health Association (CORHA), Union of Ethiopian Women and Children Association (UEWCA), Ethiopian Extractive Industries Transparence Initiative/EEITI/, Ethiopia Civil Society Coalition for Scaling up Nutrition/ECSC-SUN/ and Afar Region Health Partner Forum.

MISSION
CVDA’s mission is to enhance socioeconomic development in health, education, agriculture, environment, livelihood, and WaSH, humanitarian responses, community-based peace-building and good governance through holistic approaches and working with the community to contribute towards sustainable development and an improved standard of living in Ethiopia.
OVERALL GOAL
CVDA’s goal is to contribute to poverty alleviation through community-based approaches by implementing programs for development, good governance, and humanitarian responses in different regions of the country.

Description of the Vacancy
Common Vision for Development Association (CVDA) has seven active projects and also want to work on financial sustainability to sustain the institution on the top of scaling out the program initiative and also to enable fully implement strategic plan. The business development and knowledge management manager expected to play pivotal role.

Job Summary
The Business Development and knowledge management Manager is part of the organization’s Business Development Unit (BDU) responsible for securing funding from donors including UN agency, USAID and other Multilateral Donors. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying all opportunities for CVDA across several technical and/or geographic portfolios; developing plans to compete for these funding opportunities; executing those plans, including oversight of pre-solicitation/pre-proposal activities, mainly engage in proposal preparation and submission. Equally focus on the financial sustainability of CVDA thus develop strategy and business plan for CVDA engagement in business scheme.
Roles and Responsibilities
Business Development
Develop resource mobilization plans to operationalize the resource mobilization strategy of CVDA.
Ensure development of regular reports and analysis of the implementation plans, mapping between program priorities and donor opportunities, funding analysis, etc to be used by management for tracking progress against the targets, review and decision making.
Identify grant opportunities and develop grant proposals in-line with agreed organizational procedures and in close coordination with Program Design Unit,
Knowledge management Role
The knowledge manager is responsible for overseeing all knowledge-related activities, including the management, capturing, sharing and accessibility of knowledge assets. They are required to work alongside stakeholders, internal and external, to promote and optimize the usage of the organization’s knowledge assets. Knowledge managers are expected to keep themselves and their appointed teams accountable for compliance to the company’s expectations and strategy. They are also responsible for communication, promoting collaboration and workplace harmony.
