Brewing Manager is responsible to lead the brewing process (Brewhouse, Fermentation, Filtration and bright beer) staff capable of meeting/exceeding the goals of the brewery by organizing and overseeing the brewing system. He/she must ensure the smooth running of all Brewing processes. He/She must report to the production manager and work closely with him/her to ensure and maintain efficient and productive operation system that meets all requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead a brewing staff and meeting/exceeding the goals of the brewery.
Operate brewing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Proper handling of all wastes as per Brewerâs instructions.
Make sure the proper usage of PPE and other safety compliances.
Work closely with the Brew-master and Quality Assurance Manager to generate daily production schedules and ensure that they are met.
Maintain integrity of the main brewery and ensure there is no cross-contamination between it and the environment.
Interact routinely with the Production and Quality Assurance manager to ensure production schedules meet customersâ needs while balancing the intermediate product inventory and minimizing stock out situations.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of: Brewing, Yeast handling, Fermentation, Maturation and Filtration.
Develop performance and productivity metrics for all brewing process areas and hold team members accountable for achieving these goals.
10. Develop and maintain proper yeast management practices to ensure consistent fermentations that meet quality standards and Maintain the same rate of progress with desired production goals.
Own production sustainability goals and seek out innovative solutions to not only ensure achievement but continually improve brewery performance.
Oversee the CIP and Hygiene of all production facilities including the main brewery, Fermentation and Filtration areas.
Planning and Organizing production schedule.
Look to incorporate elements of lean production principles as appropriate.
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels to meet company goals.
Work closely with technical team to develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment to maximize overall production efficiency
Make sure daily process monitoring are measured as per the SOPs.
Assist other departments when necessary, including but not limited to technical team, Packaging and QA/QC.
Involve in the implementation of IMS.

Academic requirement: MSc//BSc in Food science/Engineering, Biological Science, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
Work experience: Minimum 6/8 Years of relevant experience in Brewery.
IBD (International Brewing Diploma) is preferable
Familiar with brewery management software programs: SCADA, ERP.
Experience of IMS (ISO 22000, 9001, 14001 and 45001) implementation.
Having a mindset of achieving excellence
Management level experience in a production brewery or food production facility with firsthand experience in developing new processes and managing culture.
A strong understanding of brewing process controls
Extensive knowledge of food/brewing industry compliance standards
A strong work ethics and hands-on approach
A good command of English, Amharic and Afan Oromo languages.
