Job summary
Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall execution of planned and unplanned maintenance of various plants (Utility, Brew house & Packaging), optimizing plant efficiency and preparation of maintenance budget. He/She is also responsible to work closely with Brewing manager to ensure reliability of all processes and equipment, and keep all permitting up to date.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and execute all planned and preventive maintenance tasks to increase machine availability and reduce downtime.
Follow up and monitor conditions of various machines continually to ensure efficient processes of production.
Manage quantity, quality, and cost of engineering maintenance in the brewery.
Ensure availability of plants/machinery for productive use always.
Organize and execute planned preventive maintenance of plant and equipment.
Inspect plant to predict failures and take remedial action.
Evaluate and analyze breakdown deployments and hold PM meetings to discuss problems, their causes and parts required for effective maintenance.
Carry out design, impact analysis, execution, and commissioning of minor modifications on machinery/equipment and controls
Carry out effective root cause analysis to find out and avoid root causes of problems by doing RCFA and avoids the causes from re-occurrences.
Examine performance of process equipment to detect and locate malfunctions and inefficiencies.
Provide technical support and operational solutions for maximum reliability and utilization of various plants and sustain production.
Plan, implement and control maintenance budget.
Train, guide, support and supervise maintenance team ensure that quality maintenance is carried out in professional approach and maintenance mistakes are avoided.
Deliver Utility supplies as per process requirements of factory.
Optimize thermal, electrical and water consumption
Work with Brewing department to ensure reliable and consistent equipment operations
Develop and execute a reliability and preventive maintenance program for each facility and specific pieces of equipment.
Manage activities & maintain relationships with key suppliers and support vendors
Be the primary contact and owner for boiler, chiller, water treatment, compressed air, CO2, and other utilities operations
Develop and secure essential spare parts to ensure minimal downtime
Seek out and suggest improvements to safety
Ability to troubleshoot, repair and evaluate equipment efficiencies
Assist with production tasks as needed or as opportunity arises
Prioritize and make recommendations for and commissioning of new equipment and brewing/packaging processes
Together with people manager, maintenance manager can hire contractors: mechanics, electricians and welders as needed and manage their activities and costs
Support new brewery equipment installations, to include, but not limited to:
Work with Brewmaster and Head Brewers to recommend equipment with a focus on supplier relationships, quality, technology, reliability and price.
Help coordinate layouts with Brewmaster, Executive team, architects, suppliers, and contractors
Secure contractors for sanitary welding, electrical, floors, etc. and manage contractor schedules, quality of work and safety
Help Design, source and manage installation of utilities equipment and piping of CO2, Boiler/Steam, Glycol chiller and piping, compressed air, wastewater treatment
Help coordinate shipping and receiving of equipment, rigging crews, cranes, etc.
Academic requirement: MSC/BSC in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
Work experience: 6/8 years of relevant experience
Additional Competencies:
Excellent mechanical skills and experience with maintaining, repairing, and operating pumps, utilities equipment, bottle line, can line, and brewhouses
Thorough knowledge of the brewery processes and how the design quality and the equipment quality impacts resulting beer quality-from grains handling through packaging
Skill in CMMS/SAP usage
Superior talent in people management
Experience with equipment installs and commissioning, and brewery construction
Experience managing contractors and sub-contractors
Excellence in communication-writing, verbal, and documentation/record-keeping.
