Plant Manager

Job Summary

The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. The Plant Manager will also be responsible for coordinating and directing all activities involved in the production of shoes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, including production, maintenance, and quality control.
• Implement and monitor production schedules to meet customer orders and company objectives.

2. Quality Assurance:

• Maintain product quality by enforcing quality control standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

4. Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production workers, supervisors, and support staff.
• Manage staffing levels and allocate resources effectively.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

5. Budgeting and Cost Control:

• Develop and manage the plant's budget, including production costs, labor, and materials.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-control measures.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to production efficiency, quality, and costs.

6. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:

• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage warehouse operations.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and inventory control.

8. Reporting:

• Prepare regular reports on plant operations, including production volumes, quality metrics, and financial performance.
• Present operational updates to senior management or General Manager

Department: Manufacturing

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Plant Manager or in a similar senior manufacturing role.
• Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficient in production management software and other relevant IT tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
