Facilitator

CHADET Ethiopia is a non-profit national development organization registered in Ethiopia that works for the protection and welfare of children found under difficult circumstances. CHADET would like to hire competent staffs for facilitator position in a project that is being designed to provide non-formal education for selected street children in Addis Ababa city. The positions and key tasks that are expected of the candidate are outlined as follows:

Key responsibilities: Subject to the general guidelines of the organization and directives from the project coordinator the facilitator shall be responsible for teaching street children based on the guidance to be given by the project. The facilitator will have the following duties and responsibilities: -

• Prepare weekly lesson plan that is expected to be executed at the level of the center, 
• Follow up and measure students’ performance periodically,
• Record students’ performance result and reports on the level accomplishments to the project coordinator,
• Work in collaboration with counselors, care givers, communities and other stakeholders to fulfil their obligation in taking care in the school and within communities,
• Carry out other similar activities as assigned by the Executive Director or the designated person.

Salary:  As per the organization’s scale

Terms of Employment: Contractual     

Qualifications and experience: 

• A minimum of BED/BA degree in education with a minimum of three years of experience in teaching, who is certified with learning facilitation skills, certified with peer teaching training course and/or trained in post graduate diploma in teaching.

Competencies:

• This position requires a motivated and innovative person with strong teaching skills and an ability to work independently,

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead but should be able to understand te situation and character of street connected children,

• Strong ability to communicate in written and spoken English and Amharic, 

• Ability and willingness to respect CHADET’s values and safeguarding policy in every aspect of his/her work
