JOB SUMMARY
The Community Mobilizer for the School Feeding Program will play a role in mobilizing, engaging, and building strong relationships with the local community, school administration, parents, and students to ensure the successful implementation of the school feeding initiative. The ideal candidate will work closely with local stakeholders to promote the program's objectives, improve nutrition awareness, and encourage community involvement in the success of the program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build strong relationships with local communities, schools, parents, and students to create awareness and support for the school feeding program.
Lead efforts to raise awareness of the benefits of school feeding programs, including improved attendance, academic performance, and nutrition.
Participate in and monitor the distribution of high-energy biscuits, ensuring that all students receive their rations according to the program guidelines.
Organize and conduct training sessions for school staff, parents, and volunteers on nutrition, hygiene, food handling, and program management.
Address any issues or conflicts that arise within the community or between stakeholders, ensuring smooth program operations and community support.
Conduct regular visits to schools to monitor the progress and impact of the feeding program, gather feedback, and ensure program compliance.
Collect and compile data on program performance, community participation, and challenges, providing regular updates to the Project Coordinator or Program Manager.
Support the creation of community committees to oversee and sustain the feeding program beyond the initial implementation phase.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Diploma in Social Sciences
Prior learning experience in community based, Government, NGO, INGO set ups.
LANGUAGE
Required: Amharic and English

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be exposed to loud noises around the maintenance and construction workshops.
