Medical Doctor

Job Summary: 

YMG Gold Mining PLC is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Doctor to join our team at our gold processing plant in the Guji region, Shakiso area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care, with a focus on treating work-related accidents and illnesses. Fluency in English is essential for effective communication with staff and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical care and first aid to employees with work-related injuries.
• Diagnose and treat common illnesses among employees.
• Conduct regular health assessments and provide preventive care.
• Manage emergency situations and coordinate with external medical services when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
• Advise on workplace safety and health practices to prevent injuries and illnesses.
• Participate in health and safety training for employees.
• Ensure compliance with local health regulations and company policies.

Work Environment:

• The role is based at a gold processing plant in a remote area.
• The doctor will need to be adaptable to challenging working conditions and able to respond to medical emergencies promptly.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with a focus on treating work-related accidents and common illnesses.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Skills:

• Strong clinical skills, particularly in treating work-related accidents emergencies and illnesses.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a remote or industrial setting.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of medical emergencies and provide effective treatment.
